Take it to the limit

Friday, August 20.

(this time in English for Sandy and Len)

The last day on Harstine Island in the USA. During breakfast we discussed that we actually didn’t see many different animals around the house this week. Yes, there were deers and off course the seal, and only one squirrel during the walk Mark discovered at the end of the park. But generally we used to see lots of animals around the house.

And as if someone had heard, a little squirrel jumped on the ridge from the porch and gave us a beautiful fare-well show

So with pain in our hearts we packed and left this beautiful place, heading to Vancouver again. During the trip we thought that we saw something jumping out of the water, but we couldn’t recognize it. Perhaps a seal, or a dolphin, a tuna-fish?

What we sure did see were a lot of cars and traffic jams. De whole trip took more than 7 hours , normally it should have been 4 hours. For us it was the limit. The famous Dutch soccer player Johan Cruyff had a solution for traffic jams. People just have to drive faster , then there will be no traffic jams. That’s logical, isn’t, it? ;-) I think most of the people in this area spend most of their lives in cars, because they aren’t allowed to drive faster because of the speedlimits.
In Vancouver it was the same thing . For the second time around many traffic activities.

So we were tired and probably too late to do something special this evening. We had looked on internet if something was going on in Vancouver that we liked. Is there a concert perhaps from the Eagles (or Don Henley)? No we didn’t find somebody we knew.

So when I read my email that evening I was surprised. I got quite some photos of a very special model from the Vancouver area. It’s an very extra ordinary girl or is it a boy? Sometimes its hard to see these days, many stars are androgyne. Even her/his name is mysterious . She/he has much empathy for all kind of human behavior and really has got talent for standing model and acting.
Sandy our neighbor from Nanaimo did send us exclusive pictures from this very exclusive model. As many other models she’s quit thin and only eats salad (especially rucola) to stay in shape. She excels in her colorful way of dressing. You cannot forget her (or him?)

So as a special contribution to this travel-log we put some of these pictures on the website. Let us know which picture you like the most. And we want to thank Sandy for sharing the photos.

Later that night we saw some other talented people on Lonsdale bay. There was a foodtruck festival and a really good band. As a special gift they ended their show with a song from the Eagles: 'Take it to the limit'

So, this weekend in Vancouver we are going to take it to the limit , one more time;-)
